The Filter row is changing the number of fields depending on the options selected by the user. It means that when you select the E-mail option there is 4 cells in the single row and when the Other option is selected there are 5 cells instead.

The first cell from the left is the checkbox control. It is the only editable field in the row. When the field is checked the row is available for appending into the Recipients collection. When you check the Select All checkbox located above the Filter Table all fields become checked with it and vice versa.
The Name row can me formatted when one of the options from the menu button is selected.

Those changes are not affecting the records in the database. The records in the database remind not modified.
